Burial Assistance
- To be eligible for burial assistance, the adult Sickle Cell client and/or child of a guardian of must have been diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease and be a Mid-South Resident (Crittenden County, Arkansas; Desoto County, Mississippi; Shelby County, Tennessee) and/or received treatment from Diggs Kraus Sickle Cell Clinic (Regional One), Methodist Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
- These funds shall be used by the family/guardian as the last resort; therefore, Sickle Cell clients family/guardian must have exhausted other community/family resources prior to receiving benevolent assistance through Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee (SCFT).
- A Sickle Cell client’s family/guardian can receive a maximum of $500.00. Funds are distributed on a first come first serve basis and paid directly to the Funeral home.
- This assistance will be available until the funds are exhausted.
